Why is the name changing?
Since October 2017 the momentum and awareness of the #MeToo movement has continued to grow globally. Despite our similarity in name with #MeToo, for a long time we felt it was unnecessary to change. However, we listened closely to our partners and customers and in recent months have received a significant volume of feedback that whilst they continue to love the product, the name is increasingly causing a distraction and even a barrier to use. For this reason, we came to the decision that it was the right time to change our name.
Is it just the name that is changing or a full rebrand?
Just the name. Whilst the name will change from Meetoo to Vevox for our apps, dashboard, website, social channels and PowerPoint add-in the look and feel will remain the same.
When is the name changing?
‘Switchover day’ which will see the Vevox name reflected across the apps, website and product platform is currently scheduled for Thursday 21st March. Please note that there may be some resources still in the Meetoo name after switchover day, but we will be working to change those as soon as possible.
Will the website domain be changing too?
Yes, the website will change to vevox.com and will display our new logo but a redirect will be in place from meetoo.com so you won't get lost and all existing links you may be using or have bookmarked will still work.
How do I access my dashboard? Where do I go to log in?
The new login page will be login.vevox.com but login.meetoo.com will redirect. Your login credentials will remain the same.
You may wish to bookmark the new login page login.vevox.com for future reference.
Can the Meetoo apps still be used?
The existing Meetoo Web app will remain available for the foreseeable future to allow a transition period where required.
*UPDATE 13/3/19* We had also planned to continue to provide the Meetoo iOS app after the 21st March, but due to Apple’s App Store rules on duplicate apps this is not possible. To continue using a Meetoo named app after this time you must use the Meetoo web app.
When will the new Vevox apps be available?
The Vevox web app which can be used on any device is available now at vevox.app.
The iOS and Android apps are scheduled for release on 21st March.
What do I need to do to switch to using the new apps?
We will send an email and update the dashboard to confirm that the change has happened on 21st March. From that point simply ask participants to go to vevox.app in their browser for the web app or search ‘Vevox’ in the app stores (iOS and Android). Anyone with the Meetoo iOS and Android apps already on their phone can simply update the app and it will change to Vevox (if they don’t update it will still work though).
I need to use the new apps before the switchover date though, is there anything that can be done?
Yes - the Vevox web app is available now at vevox.app.
iOS and Android apps will not be released to the app stores until the 21st March.
What's happening with the PowerPoint add-in?
The functionality will remain the same but it will be renamed to Vevox. If you have the add in installed, you will receive a prompt to update to the Vevox version and we recommend you accept this update as soon as it becomes available. The Vevox add in will be available to download from the website or your dashboard from switchover day.
If you have not had chance to update, or the add in is installed for you by your system administrator, the existing Meetoo one will remain supported and OK to use for at least six months after switchover day.
How do I get in touch with the Customer Success or support team?
All Meetoo email addresses remain in service and new Vevox email addresses are now live. If you have any questions then head to our contact page. Alternatively email hello@meetoo.com or hello@vevox.com which will become our new main email address so please do add this to your address book.
Why ‘Vevox’? Where does the name come from?
The team brainstormed literally hundreds of ideas and settled on Vevox for several reasons. We wanted something short and easy to communicate with participants whether written and verbally with a distinctive look and sound. It also references our core ethos of Valuing Every Voice (Vox being Latin for voice)
Will all my old meetings still be available in the new Vevox dashboard?
Yes. All sessions, content and results will remain in your dashboard.
Will our dashboard link still work as people have it bookmarked?
Yes it will forward to your new Vevox URL. We recommend getting people to bookmark this new URL though to avoid confusion.
Will I get a new cup?!
If you would like one of the first new Vevox branded bamboo fibre keep cups we’d be delighted to send you one! Just let us know your address. A limited number of ‘Vevox champions’ will be receiving a stainless steel insulated Vevox flask to celebrate the launch of the new name.
Do I need update by billing details to pay for my subscription?
If you pay by credit card you do not have to do anything, however for payments after switchover your credit card statements will show ‘Vevox* Auga Technologies Ltd’
If you pay via invoice, your next invoice will be issued from ‘Auga Technologies Ltd’ and branded Vevox.
How I get the new logo and images?
Partners have access to these resources though the partner portal https://partnerportal.vevox.com. If you do not have access to the partner portal please email the team at hello@vevox.com to request what you need.
I’ve already sent the link to my meeting/class for ‘Meetoo’, do I have to change it?
If the meeting/class is on or after 21st March the web app instructions can remain the same, however for participants to use the iOS or Android apps they will now need to search for Vevox.
We had planned to continue to provide the Meetoo apps store (native) apps after the 21st March for a transition period, but due to Apple’s rules on duplicate apps this is not possible. To continue using a Meetoo named app after this time you must use the web app - web.meetoo.com
Do I need to do anything on switchover day?
No, everything will switchover automatically.
What happens if I have a meeting running when the switchover happens?
Your session will carry on as normal. If you refresh your browser the branding will change to Vevox but nothing else will be effected. We regularly run updates like this.
I have a multi user account, will all my users be notified of the name change?
Yes, they should all receive several emails (unless they have unsubscribed/opted not to receive mails from us), as well as a notifications when they log in to the account dashboard.
What if I (or my IT team) have whitelisted the Meetoo URLs and domains to make the system work on our network. Will it still work when the name changes?
Possibly not! Depending on your network security, you or your IT team may need to action some further whitelisting. Here are the updated whitelisting instructions.
